For the english reader: This article is a short advertisement for the e-book I have written on the topic of building a Tiny House. Unfortunately, it is in German so you can ignore this article which is also written in German. I could recommend you the article on strong opinions.

What did you like about the IMT Atlantique?

I liked many aspects of studying at the IMT. First of all, meeting so many people with different backgrounds. That really opens you up. As the campus in Rennes is not that big some courses were organised together with other schools for example the sport course. That allowed us to also meet students from other schools and we did many things with them outside of the academic program.

The second thing is the flexibility of the IMT administration. My university, the IMT and me discussed what would be the best…

Håkon has an unusual but very interesting academic path that needs some explanation. During his Bachelors he did a semester abroad (Erasmus) at the IMT Atlantique. Now, he is back in France for his Masters in Data Science and Business Analytics at Essec & CentraleSupélec. IMT truly opens many doors!

Hi Håkon! Can I ask you — what fascinates you most about the IMT Atlantique?

The student life in general. Even though the campus is located a bit outside of Rennes it is easy to see all the interesting buildings as for example churches.

Also, the way of studying is…

Hi Vinicio! What did you like most about the IMT Atlantique?

Especially fascinating to me was the Campus in Brest. It is just too perfect, the environment, the beach and the many places to amuse yourself as the gym or the foyer. Also, it is really quiet and at 12 pm there is no noise so I could always sleep perfectly. However, it can be too quiet at times as there are not many options for going out to a bar or club.

Another thing I loved was the specialisation of teachers. They are truly experts in their domains and…

Hi Belen! What is your favourite aspect of the IMT Atlantique?

Friendship. I was able to make friends from all continents. Asia, Africa, America, Europe the environment is really international. I liked that teachers enforced mixing of cultures — for group projects we always had to form new groups and different than before making sure that as few people as possible spoke the same native language. I got to know many people and friends because of this. Additionally, you understand a lot about different backgrounds, be it the french one or any other, which I thoroughly enjoyed!

Also, you can…

Hi Renan! Please tell me — what are your favourite aspects about the IMT Atlantique?

My favourite aspect of the IMT is the international environment with people from many different countries. For me, this was an important and new experience as back in Brazil we do not have many international students.
Another important thing is the soft skills we are taught like presenting, how to build your CV and how to work in a group. That was very beneficial for me as in Brazil I studied mechanical engineering but wanted to go into the direction of management and consulting. …

Hi Helder! Can I ask you — what are your favourite aspects of the IMT Atlantique?

I especially enjoy the international environment and getting in touch with all these various people, cultures and languages. For the most part, everyone is very open and nice. It allowed me to grow myself as a person but also to collect valuable cultural experience which will help me in my professional life. Weirdly enough I also learned Spanish, in France, from some newly found friends.

A second aspect I enjoy is the practicality of courses. They do not spend too much time on theory…

Hi Lyde! Can I ask you — what fascinates you most about the IMT Atlantique?

Honestly, before coming here I thought it was like any engineering school. In Cameroon there exist some French engineering schools as well, however, they do not stand out particularly. But now, I’m fascinated by the popularity of the school and its reputation, especially amongst recruiters. I had several interviews where the IMT Atlantique was a strong argument and you could feel the change of vibes for the better.

And what would be your top 3 tricks for new students?

If you have difficulties in understanding…

Hi Minh-Triet! Can I ask you — what fascinates you most about the IMT Atlantique?

For me, it is the green campus in Brest. There is even a beach right behind the school which is a nice contrast to the urban environment I’m used to from Vietnam. But if you would have asked when I came here in autumn, my answer would have been different… It is nice when the trees have leaves and everything is green.

And what would be your top tricks for new students?

In comparison to Vietnam, the courses here take less time of the day…
